A west-side room puts Lake McDonald and Avalanche close. St. Mary shortens an eastbound Sun Road start, while Many Glacier lodging serves its own valley. Whitefish and Kalispell offer the deepest year-round services but add driving before the park day.
Columbia Falls and Whitefish
More restaurants, groceries, and conventional hotels. Columbia Falls is the shorter park drive; Whitefish adds a walkable downtown and resort-town services.
St. Mary and Many Glacier
St. Mary serves the east end of the Sun Road. Many Glacier lodging is farther into a separate valley and is best for trail-focused days there.
East Glacier Park
Useful for Two Medicine and the Amtrak station. It is not interchangeable with St. Mary or Many Glacier, so check the next morning’s road before booking.

Under Canvas Glacier offers safari-style tents and an on-site restaurant in Coram. Glacier Guides Lodge sits closer to the park boundary in West Glacier and includes continental breakfast.
Wonderstone is a conventional Columbia Falls hotel near groceries and restaurants. Meadow Lake Resort Condos trades a longer drive for more space on a multi-night stay.
Duck Inn Lodge puts the Whitefish River, downtown dining, and Amtrak nearby. Smoky Bear Ranch is the smaller rural choice, with bed-and-breakfast rooms and cabins west of the park.
